Head’s News – 31st January
Parent and Pupil Surveys
I would like to thank all those parents who have already returned their surveys. We are very keen to hear from all parents and I would be grateful if you could return surveys via your son or daughter next week.
As we will be dispatching both parent and pupil surveys at the same time, there is a final opportunity for pupils to complete their surveys and return to school next week.
So far approximately 75% of pupils have completed the survey – it would be excellent if we could reach 90% completion of both parent and pupil surveys.
INSET Days 13th and 14th February
I would like to remind parents that the school will be closed on 13th and 14th February for staff training. This year we will be meeting with staff from Sandringham and Ridgeway schools on the first day for a conference entitled Character is Key. Staff will be addressed by two keynote speakers Dr Tom Harrison, Senior Lecturer and Programme Director and Rob Carpenter, a National Leader of Education who will be talking about building better learners.
On the second day, we will be training staff on the use of google classroom which we will be rolling out with staff and students next academic year.
Headmaster’s commendations
This week’s HM commendations go to Edwyn Hopcroft and Jones Kamil for their kindness, generosity of spirit and helpfulness.
Well done boys.

School Uniform Policy
I have noticed in recent weeks that some students are not meeting our expectations regarding uniform in the main school. Please can I highlight three keys areas where I have noticed need the most attention:
1. White Socks – these are not part of the school uniform policy. They must be grey or black.
2. Trainers – are only allowed with a doctor’s note which must be countersigned by the Head of Year. Temporary parents notes must be dated and will only be valid for two days.
3. Hoodies/Hooded Jumpers – these are not permitted at all and if they are worn to school will be confiscated for the remainder of the week.
