Curriculum Enrichment Days
We have four Curriculum Enrichment Days (CED) throughout the academic year to enhance and enrich our pupils’ standard curriculum. These days are subject specific and provide pupils with different experiences and a chance to explore a topic in depth. Not only do these days build key employability skills like leadership, communication and teamwork but they contribute to developing pupils’ character.
Business Enterprise Day in Year 9 involves industry experts from a range of sectors running sessions for the boys on areas such as banking, marketing and sports. These give our Year 9 pupils an understanding of the types of careers they might be interested in working towards.
Another example is the Science CREST award Year 7 complete for one of their CED’s. Pupils spend a day working in small teams on a project that involves research, planning, construction and testing. Pupils then complete a project passport which science teachers will guide them through. This passport is submitted to the Crest Awards who award a “Crest Discovery Award”, a nationally recognised award supported by the British Science Association.
