Community Hire and Commercial Lettings
Situated in St Albans, Hertfordshire, less than 1 mile from St Albans City Station, Verulam School offers the local community and businesses a variety of thriving community spaces and facilities for ad hoc or regular hire at our Brampton Road site. We also have extensive sports fields for rugby, football and cricket at Sandpit Lane.
Individuals and organisations are able to hire our facilities for formal and informal occasions and events accommodating 1-350 people. We also cater for commercial bookings, facilitating meetings, training and courses within our comprehensive facilities. Our current list of hirers includes sports clubs, adult education and exercise classes, community groups, children’s parties and classes as well as regular talks, meetings and presentations. We’ve also hosted weddings, balls and dinners utilising multiple versatile spaces simultaneously.

The following spaces are available for hire during evenings, weekends and school holidays:
Main Hall
A spacious and open hall complete with a staging area and access to a large number of chairs to suit larger bookings. 166m2 with a seated capacity of 300 guests (theatre style) plus an additional 50 on a separate balcony area. Full surround sound speaker system with projector and 5m retractable screen. A separate foyer is also available as a reception/greeting area. Ideal for fundraising events, talks and presentations or social occasions.
Sports Centre
588m2 multi-use sports hall for indoor training or matches with two changing rooms and separate toilets. Courts for basketball, badminton, up to 9-a-side football, hockey and cricket lanes plus table tennis. Suitable for sports clubs, competitions or ad hoc events. A separate gym equipped with running, rowing and cycling machines, weights system and benches is also available to fully qualified and insured personal trainers.
Classrooms
A variety of classrooms in the main school building and various locations throughout the school. Tables and chairs to accommodate up to 30 with access to interactive whiteboards in certain rooms. Available individually or collectively as required for evening and weekend classes, summer schools or holiday clubs.
Bradshaw Building
Self-contained block with its own toilets. Six individual classrooms leading off a large, open central foyer that can be used as an additional assembly or meeting space. Can be hired exclusively or as individual classrooms. Ideal for community groups, training, team building and much more.
Drama Studio
Multifunctional 94m2 studio space on the first floor of our main building. Suitable to host a variety of bookings including fitness and exercise classes for adults and children, rehearsals and workshops.
Music Suite
Self-contained block with its own toilets. Three separate practice rooms plus two classrooms. Ideal space for rehearsals and one to one or small group music lessons in addition to training sessions or adult education.
