Supporting Reading During Lockdown

With the launch and introduction of the school library app, students are now able to search our library resources remotely.

Library users can search by book title, author or even genre to get an indication of what is available to borrow.  Clicking on the book titles within the app also shows students if there is an Accelerated Reader (AR) quiz for the book, what level it is and how many points it’s worth.

 

To support students to continue reading during the lockdown our Librarian is offering a click & collect service.

Using the library app, students can request the books that they would like to borrow.

Once notified, students can collect their books in individually named bags from outside the main entrance of the school.  Books are then returned in the same way.

 

 

We have also introduced the e-books app which students can download to their phone or other devices, to enable them to select and read books electronically. There are currently over 1400 books to choose from on the platform, with e-textbooks being added in the near future.
