School Trips
Educational trips and visits are seen as an important part of the curriculum at Verulam School. They are viewed as powerful, positive teaching tools that help enhance the social, personal and emotional development of all students.
The benefits of educational trips include:
- Improved knowledge and understanding – seeing something for themselves reinforces what students have been learning in class
- Higher engagement and Increased motivation for a subject
- Personal development of independence, confidence, self-esteem, personal effectiveness and coping strategies
- Enhanced relationships – students often get on better with other pupils having worked with them outside of the classroom and teachers can gain a better understanding of how their students like to learn
