Gang Show

On Wednesday 13th February, 5 months of preparations and rehearsals will come to an end and we will take to the stage in the Alban Arena as part of The St Albans District Gang Show. We (Aidan Chester Year 10, Cameron Dunn, Finley Cooper & Casper Grey Year 9) auditioned for a place in September and after being successful have worked really hard in rehearsals since October along with around 100 other young people from St Albans. St Albans Gang show is, in the words of our producer in a recent article in the St Albans Review, “A little bit like mixing the Royal Variety Performance and Britain’s Got Talent with an array of comedy sketches, large musical numbers and smaller focused dance and harmony singing performances.”

The show is on for 5 performances over 4 days, 13th– 16th February and is sold out on all but 2 of the performances! For all of us this is not our first Gang Show, we have all been involved for 3-4 years, and just shows that despite the heavy commitment it requires how much we love it. Over the years we have had the opportunity to be anything from a toilet roll to James Bond and made some amazing friends along the way. None of this would be possible without the 150 amazing adult volunteers from across scouting/guiding in the district who give up so much of their time to make the shows happen.

You can see more of the St Albans Gang Show including more pictures of previous years’ shows on their website where you can also get details on how to get some of the few remaining tickets.
