Benedict Gaskin takes the Polar Bear Plunge

Verulam School St albans HertfordshireBenedict (8C) took part in the ‘Polar Bear Plunge’ on New Years Day, a fundraising event to raise money for local charity Homestart, who support families in St. Albans City and district. Their work aims to assist families who are struggling for a variety of reasons. They work alongside parents, in their own homes, to help them cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, time and strength they need to support their children.

More information can be found here: www.home-startherts.org.uk

Verulam School are very proud of Benedict’s contribution – jumping into ice cold water in this weather certainly is not an easy challenge! I warmly commend him for his continuing charitable contribution to our community.

If your son/daughter has partaken in some fundraising or community contribution, please do let me know as we would love to recognise their effort and achievement. (Emails to [email protected] which will be directed to me)

Happy New Year to all and well done Benedict!
