Curriculum Enrichment Day
The first Curriculum Enrichment Day of the academic year took place on 10th November and saw students engage in a wealth of activities to support their learning.
While each year group undertook a different programme of events, looking into a range of topics in depth, we were delighted to welcome visitors to support Years 7 and 10 this year.
Year 7 welcomed visitors from STEP (The St Albans and Harpenden Christian Education Project) and explored a number of different aspects of Christian belief and questions ranging from the importance of stories and fables through to whether trade should be fair.
Year 10 focused on the topic of Personal, Social, Health and Careers Education, with the day centred around relationships. We welcomed guest presenters from Sexplain, an educational consulting group, who ran fun and informative sessions helping to debunk myths about sex and gender in an open and safe manner.
Curriculum Enrichment Days at Verulam continue to build key skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork as well as contribute to developing students’ character.
