Secondary Admissions

Verulam School is a high-achieving, 11-18 all boys’ school, that operates a mixed Sixth Form. We are our own admitting authority but Hertfordshire LA manages the transfer and entry to Verulam School on our behalf for entries into year 7. Applications for entry to sixth form are made directly to the school.

Key dates for admission to Year 7 in September 2027

1st September 2026 – Online application system opens

22nd September 2026 – Verulam School Open Evening : 5-8pm

24th, 25th, 28th and 29th September 2026 – Open Morning Tours : 9am

31st October 2026 – Deadline to apply for a school place

1st March 2027 – National Allocation Day

Late March and Late April - Rounds of Continuing Interest

10th June, 6pm or 7pm - Transition to Verulam Evening

23rd June 2027 at either 9:15am or 5:30pm - SEND Parents’ Meeting

8th July, 9am to 2:30pm - Secondary Transfer Day – for students only

Admission Criteria

Where we have space, we can occasionally accept students joining part way through the year, outside of the annual Secondary Transfer process. Find out more about applying for a place mid-year.
