Spanish Exchange to Santander, Spain 2019 – 2020

We are delighted once again to be able to offer your son the opportunity to participate in our exchange with Colegio Calasanz in Santander. Santander is an elegant city on the North coast of Spain, in Cantabria. It is a little larger than St Albans with a good variety of shops and restaurants, and there are plenty of places of interest in the surrounding region. I would like to inform you that our partner school in Spain (Colegio Calasanz) is a mixed school, therefore the Exchange Programme is run in conjunction with St. Albans High School for Girls.

During their stay, the students will participate in a varied programme, combining time in school with excursions. The educational value of taking part in an exchange of this sort is beyond measure. In staying with a Spanish family, students are able to immerse themselves in the Spanish way of life and at the same time improve their command and understanding of the language. With an increasing emphasis on knowledge and understanding of the target language country in both the GCSE and A-Level syllabuses, involvement in such a trip is invaluable for students wishing to continue their study of the language.

I hope your son will be able to take advantage of this opportunity, and that this exchange will be as successful as previous ones have been. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you wish your son to take part in the exchange, please get an application form from Miss Hernández.
