PTA – Request for auction and raffle prizes

I am writing to you on behalf of the Verulam School PTA.

We are currently planning the “Spring Ball”, to be held at the school on Saturday 27th April 2019. Please put the date in your diary and look out for the tickets when they go on sale in the Spring term.

In the last few years we have held very successful sell out Winter Balls attended by around 150 parents to raise funds for the school. Money raised at previous Balls have contributed towards a new school mini bus, the modernisation of the school library and much needed lockers for the boys. We are currently consulting with the school as to where the funds raised at this event can be spent, we will confirm nearer the time.

Although ticket sales make up the greatest part of charity revenue raised, we also organise other fundraising activities which include an auction and a raffle at the Ball. We know that parents at our school have many skills and talents! If you were able to support these events by sharing your skills, experience, products or services (however big or small) this would significantly boost our funds. Examples of gifts/services you could donate include:

Manicure/beauty treatments
Decorating
Party activities
Tickets to sporting/theatre/other events
Holiday cottages
Limo journey
Personal training
Vouchers
Products
Gardening
Cake baking
Flower arranging

Fund matching is another way of supporting the school. Many large organisations offer this facility and it is usually a straightforward process to apply for funds. In the past fund matching has raised £1000’s extra from matching funds raised from the raffle and bar.

We very much welcome support in any way from all types of businesses. All contributors’ names will be mentioned and thanked in our programme and other publicity associated with the Ball. Acknowledgements will be shared on social media where we can include a link to your website so we can give your company the recognition it deserves for contributing to our efforts.

Another way to contribute is by donating unwanted gifts received over the festive period to include in the raffle on the night, please let me know in the new year if you have anything to offer.
