Canteen renewal

In September, Mint “inspired food for education” will be taking over the canteen and introducing a new café to the Sixth Form Centre.  To coincide with this, the canteen and kitchen will receive a major refurbishment.  Mint won the contract in a fiercely competitive tendering process which focussed on both quality and price.  Mint will be offering innovative seasonably influenced menus at breakfast, morning break and lunch.  They are fully committed to delivering a fresh and nutritious meal service that provides students with excellent choice, quality and value. They will continue to offer a meal deal including a freshly prepared main course and pudding for £2.20.  Below is an image of the proposed Sixth Form café area.

Verulam Medieval Festival – Jennings Road Entrance 30th June 11am-4pm

With a couple of days to go the sun has finally made an appearance and it is set to be sunny, but not too hot on Sunday – perfect weather for a day of medieval merriment. The Festival is open to the whole St. Albans community so please help us spread the word and bring your friends, family & neighbours along. All proceeds will be invested in improving Verulam School’s Sport and Recreational facilities.

Thanks and congratulations to the winners of the Medieval “Design a ticket” challenge. Although the quality of all the entries made judging difficult, Mr Pettitt finally selected designs from the following creative historians!

Winner – Jacob Hamilton 7P (winning design shown here)

Runners Up – Angelo Hansen 7C, George Nassif 7J, Austin Kennedy 7P, Sam Calthrop 7H
