The PTA and Happy School Bag are raising funds for the school, while helping the environment and disadvantaged people afford clothes by keeping valuable reusable resources out of landfill. You just need to fill your own plastic bags with the following items and drop them off in the visitor parking area at the front of the school between 8.00-12.00pm on Friday 14th December and we will receive 60 pence per kilo of weight. The following items are accepted:

Clean and dry adults and children’s clothing Reusable paired shoes and trainers Handbags, belts, hats & accessories
Bed linen, towels and soft toys

Jewellery, toiletries and perfumes Console games

Understand Adolescence

I would like to draw parents’ attention to a talk they may find useful organised by Keystone Workshops, an organisation which parents have previously found useful: Understanding Adolescence – Positive Strategies for Parents. It will cover:

  • An understanding of the biological, psychological and social changes in adolescence
  • An understanding of how these developmental changes can have an impact on, and be impacted by, the developmental demands of being a parent.
  • Knowledge of the current successful strategies for managing teenage behaviour.
  • Knowledge of positive communication approaches and five simple steps used as part of a person centred communication style.
  • The event takes place on 28th January from 19:30 to 21:00 at The Maltings Theatre, St Albans at a cost of £19pp.
