Sixth Form Induction Days 2022
We are looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday and Thursday 29th and 30th for the Sixth Form Induction days. Induction days are mandatory for each Sixth Form applicant.
Closer to the days, you will be informed of your Form via Parentmail. In some cases, an interim form tutor will take on the role of your form tutor if that person is absent during induction. Similarly, your form may change depending on the final number of students accessing Sixth Form.
Students should enter via the back gate (Jennings Road).
On Wednesday 29th June, all students are expected to gather in Verulam Sixth Form Café at 8.20am where they will be greeted by their new Form tutor who will take them to the Hall by 8.30am. After the welcome meeting, their form tutor will take students to their form room where they will be given their induction timetable. If students need to attend the first block in Sandringham or Beaumont, the minibus will take them there on Wednesday morning AFTER Form time. All of this will be explained during Form time on Wednesday 29th June.
Students will need to bring notepads and pens as work will be completed during lessons.
Hot and cold drinks and snacks are available in the Sixth Form centre at break and lunch. We cannot accept cash. Payment is either via ApplePay or via your Verulam student ID card (for current Verulam students). The alternative is to bring in a packed lunch.
During induction, students are expected to wear smart business dress. As this is taking place during summer time, male students can dispense with jacket and tie at Verulam School. However, students who will be attending our Consortium partner schools must recognise their dress code.
Day 1 will finish at 3.30pm; Day 2 at 12.30 except for students new to Verulam who will finish around 1pm.
Attending Sixth Form is a big step up – You will be expected to become independent learners who care about their subjects and the wider school community. The Sixth Form team is there to guide you all the way.
