Verulam School opened a new main Dining Room and a new Sixth Form Café in September 2019.
Our aim is to serve great fresh food using the very best of seasonal ingredients to create appetising and healthy meals. The meals will continue to be excellent value with a freshly prepared main course and pudding on offer every day for £2.30. As well as main courses such as cottage pie, baby potatoes and seasonal vegetables, there are smaller meals such as chicken wraps with salad and minted yoghurt and vegetarian and vegan options such as sag aloo with rice or macaroni cheese. Desserts are always available whether your child is looking for a simple yoghurt pot or wants the apple crumble and custard.
The Verulam School dining room is open daily before school and at break time and lunchtime. The Sixth Form Café is open from 8.30am to 2.30pm.
The school actively promotes and encourage healthy eating both in and outside of school.
Groups of students are involved in testing the new healthy meal and snack options before we commit to adding them to the menu so that any new items already have the student seal of approval.
The Verulam School day is designed to help boys concentrate and learn effectively. We have 6 lessons a day and slightly shorter lesson periods than many schools as research and experience shows that this works best for boys.
