Ofsted Report – October 2018

Dear Parents/Carers

I am pleased to send you a copy of the Ofsted report following our inspection carried out on 9th and 10th October 2018.  As you are aware, the initial monitoring visit was converted into a full inspection and we therefore received an entirely new set of judgements.

I am delighted that the inspectors rated the overall effectiveness of Verulam school as Good and that each of the five sub categories was similarly judged as Good.

The report acknowledges the rapid response we made to the findings of the previous Ofsted report and describes the change as ‘transformational’.

I would like to thank pupils, parents, staff and governors for their hard work over the last 12 months which has driven this change.  Our community has worked collectively to achieve this progress and I know that we are all eager to use this success as a springboard towards our goal of excellence.

We will continue to work to improve teaching and learning whilst aiming to raise the personal development, behaviour and welfare of pupils to become truly outstanding.

Yours sincerely

P A Ramsey

Headmaster
