Head’s News 19 July 2019
Farewells and Departures
I would like to thank those staff who are leaving for their dedication and hard work over their years at Verulam and to wish them well for the future.
Mr Toley leaves this summer having spent an extraordinary 21 years serving Verulam as a Teacher of Geography, and subsequently as Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher. He is taking up a post as Vice Principal at Goffs School. He will be remembered by thousands of boys for his commitment to extra curricula activities and in particular Duke of Edinburgh, ski trips and Geography field trips. He has also been an outstanding member of the Senior Leadership Team for the last 10 years and will be sorely missed by all those who have worked with him.
Mr Dannie trained at the school and has worked for the last 8 years as an outstanding and inspirational Maths Teacher and Head of Year. Latterly, he has excelled as an Assistant Headteacher and he is departing to take up the post of Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the Sixth Form at St Gregory’s School in Harrow.
I would like to wish Ms Dupont well as she leaves her post of Sixth Form supervisor.
Mr Blaxill is retiring after a varied career at Verulam as a lunchtime supervisor, invigilator and our expert teacher for the London Institute of Banking and Finance diploma.  His expertise in this area comes from his previous career in banking and he has been filmed on a number of occasions by the LIBF as part of their training programmes.
My best wishes also go to Miss Coy who moves to Sandringham to teach Psychology and Ms Encina Hernandez leaves us to teach in Qatar.
Mr McGrath departs to take a post as teacher of Art at Aldenham School. I would also like to thank our longest ever supply teacher Mr Moffat whose talents as a ukulele player will be sorely missed.
